Last week my ancestor was William Whimpey, and this week my ancestor is his wife Elizabeth Clement.
The first mention I had for Elizabeth was on a family group sheet sent to my dad from relatives in the United States. This indicates that Elizabeth was christened 28 Jan 1792 at Frome, Somerset, and she was the daughter of Thomas Clements and Joan Ames. She married William Whimpey on 14 Jul 1817 in Frome, Somerset, England, and was buried 1 April 1860 in Frome.
A search of the parish registers on the FreeReg site shows there was an Elizabeth Clements christened 28 Jan 1792 at St John the Baptist Parish Frome, with parents Thomas and Joan Clements (file number 29102).
However, there is a later christening that seems to indicate that the christening in 1792 was not for our Elizabeth:
St John the Baptist Parish Church, Frome, Somerset, register number 1024. Baptism date 24 Jun 1853, Elizabeth, parents Thomas and Susannah Clements, abode Blue Boar Yard, father occupation shearman, age 61, now wife of William Whimpey, file number 29102.
I was able to find entries that corresponded to her marriage and burial:
Marriage of William Wimpey, of this parish, and Elizabeth Clement, of this parish on 14 Jul 1817 at St John the Baptist Parish, Frome. Witnesses: James Webb and H Cruse, married by Banns, file number 29318.
Burial of Elizabeth Wimpy on 1 Apr 1860 at St John the Baptist Parish, Frome. She was age 67, abode Blue Boar Yard, file number 28931.
I then obtained her death certificate, to see what additional information it might contain (Registration year 1860 quarter M, Vol 05c, page 440)
Elizabeth Wimpy, died 28 March 1860 at Bridge Barton, Frome, aged 67 years. Wife of William Wimpy, a general labourer. She died from pneumonia, duration 4 days. The informant was Mary Ann Cummins, present at death Bridge Barton, Frome.
The census records provide a little more information about Elizabeth:

The 1851 England Census shows Elizabeth was in the household of William Wimpey at Fountain Lane, Frome, Somerset. She was his wife, age 61, occupation wool picker, birthplace Frome, Somerset.
