Sunday afternoon genealogy fun – Ancestor With Most Census Entries

Each week on Randy Seaver’s Genea-musings blog he has a post for Saturday night Genealogy fun.  Because of the time difference, I have called my series Sunday Afternoon Genealogy Fun. This week the mission was:

1)  Do you know which of your ancestors appears the most times in the Census records?  How many years?  Are there duplicate entries?

2)  Describe that ancestor’s entries in the records in a blog post of your own, in a comment to this blog post, or on Facebook or Google+.

For my ancestors, the most census records I would have would be 4 (we don’t have census records in Australia for the 1800s), so I decided to look at a sibling of an ancestor.  The person I have chosen is Mary Donaldson Dandie (1829-1913). Mary was the sister of my 2x great grandmother, Euphemia Dandie, and she married Andrew Paterson.  Mary appears on 8 censuses.

Here is where she lived over the years.

1841 – In the 1841 Scotland Census.  Mary Dandie was in the household of Catherine Dandie at Sea Gate, Ferry Port on Craig, Fife.  Mary was age 12, born in Fife.
