Each week on Randy Seaver’s Genea-musings blog he has a post for Saturday night Genealogy fun. Because of the time difference, I have called my series Sunday Afternoon Genealogy Fun.
1) What gift that you received for Christmas is your favorite for genealogy purposes? Book, magazine, hardware, software, website subscription, research time, DNA test – what was it, and how will it affect your genealogy research?
2) Tell us about it in a blog post on your own blog, in a comment to this blog post, or in a comment on Facebook or Google+ in response to this post.
3) Come on, spill! And it’s OK to respond to this in the days after Saturday too!
My favourite gift each Christmas for genealogy purposes are the yearly letters sent to me by my cousins, aunts and sisters, where they share the news for their family for the year. Apart from these this year, I haven’t received any other gifts for genealogy, although I did receive some cash that I might use towards my genealogy.
Sometimes the gifts do come late: last year I didn’t get my gift until February, when I received a new laptop computer.
Apart from the cash, and letters, I received some DVDs.
