Finding information in unlikely places

On the Genealogy Boomerangs blog, I came across the post Some Pinterest Updates, that mentioned that the Victorian Government Gazettes were free to search online.  Since I had recently viewed some of these records during Ancestry and FindMyPast free weekend for the Australian Day holiday, I was eager to see whether the same records are available there for free.

I started off by typing in my maiden name, and up came an entry with the same initials as my sister.  I decided to go in to the record, whether there was more information to confirm whether or not this was for my sister.

On viewing the original record, I found it was for my sister.  So I learnt something about my sister I didn’t know before.

It just goes to show that you can find information about your family in the most unexpected places.
