Ancestor occupation chart

I came across a post today on the Rootsdig.com blog: Occupations chart.  The original idea was on the Ancestor Archaeology blog.  This idea was sparked by the recent 5 or 6 generation birthplace charts.

This was a bit trickier, as many of my ancestors had multiple occupations.  For example, my dad’s occupation varied from welder to boilermaker, depending on the record.  He was also a fitter and turner before becoming a welder.  My grandfather Wilfred worked in a number of occupations.

I have therefore used the occupation at the time of their death, or the occupation they spent the most amount of time in (or, for my mum, her occupation before her marriage).

My ancestors have had a few different occupations.  The most common were home duties, farmer, and farm wife.
