The Grays and Andersons were linked to the Meiklejohns, who are on my ex-husband’s father’s side of the family.

The connection is:
My ex-husband’s father was Murray Irwin Willis
Murray’s mother Dorothea Isabella Sinclair Smith
Dorothea’s mother Louisa May Clyne
Louisa’s father David Clyne
David’s mother Elizabeth Sinclair
Elizabeth’s mother Elizabeth Meiklejohn – the connection between the two branches of the Meiklejohn family goes back to the common ancestors John Meiklejohn and Isobel Burn who were married 25 June 1698 in Thurso, Caithness, Scotland.

There is a closer link, by marriage.  David Clyne’s brother, James, married Janet Meiklejohn Dunnet. Janet was the daughter of George Dunnet and Ann Meiklejohn.  Ann was the sister of the Alexander Meiklejohn who first settled in the Numurkah area (I think George Dunnet was the brother of Alexander’s wife Margaret Dunnet).

There is a street in Numurkah named after Alexander Meiklejohn.

The Tyacks were on my ex-husband’s mother’s side of the family:
My ex-husband’s mother was Shirley Patricia Casey
Her mother was Lilah Adela Mulder
Lilah’s father was Patrick John Theodore Mulder
His father was Jacob Thomas Alexander (Thomas) Mulder
Thomas had a brother William Joseph Mulder, who had a son William Albert Mulder.  William Albert Mulder married Lavinia Tyack, and their daughter Jane Tyack Mulder married William Henry Collis Tyack.

It was William and Jane’s family who lived in Numurkah.
