In my search for grandchildren of Elizabeth Ann Ball, one of my resources has been Trove, and today I will be sharing articles I found for the family of her 9th child Eveline Myrtle Oliver, who married John Vine Holt.
When searching for Eveline’s full name, using both the surname Oliver and then Holt, there were no results, and the same for John Vine Holt. When I searched for only the first name, there were too many results, so I then tried search by just John’s initials: “J. V. Holt”, using the quotation marks to narrow my results to just articles with the phrase J. V. Holt, and restricting my search to newspapers from Victoria.
The first result was about them selling their farm at Hallam.

The next result was about the wedding of his second son, John Vine Holt.

The next result was John Vine Holt (junior)’s engagement notice.

Then there was the engagement of their youngest son, George Sylvester Holt.

And also the engagement notice for their daughter Nellie.

Nellie’s engagement notice was also in the Argus

Since most of the articles found were from the Dandenong Journal, I then narrowed my search to articles from the Dandenong Journal, and this time just used the surname Holt. I found another article about the sale of the farm at Hallam.

After leaving Hallam, the family moved to Narre Warren, and I found this article about John Vine Holt (senior’s) crop:

And to finish off this post, there was this article about the sisters meeting their brother Ernest after 50 years.
