Elizabeth was born 19 January 1880 at Kamarooka in the Colony of Victoria. She was the daughter of Hans Hansen and Catherine Marshall.
Elizabeth married Thomas Matthew Willis on 14 June 1899 at Drummartin, in the colony of Victoria, and they had four children:
- Thomas Arthur Willis (1900-1957)
- Elsie Amelia Willis (1901-1984)
- Elizabeth Lucy Willis (1905-1974)
- Edith Annie Willis (1908-1943)
Elizabeth died 14 January 1969 at the Kerang Hospital, in Kerang, Victoria, Australia. She was buried 16 January 1969 at the Eaglehawk Cemetery in Eaglehawk, Victoria, Australia.
18 Hans Hansen (1836-1905)
19 Catherine Marshall (1850-1919)
According to family records, Hans was born about 1836 in Lumby, Fyn, Denmark.
He married Catherine Marshall on 10 November 1868 at Sandhurst (Bendigo), in the colony of Victoria.
Hans and Catherine had 5 children:
- Susannah (1870-?)
- Johanna (1870-1867)
- Peter (1875-1947)
- Elizabeth (1880-1969)
- Frederick Christian Hansen (1881-1949)
Hans died 11 February 1905 at Elmore, after a piece of meat became lodged in his gullet – his inquest can be found on FamilySearch – https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G99R-RY5C?cc=1805122. He was buried at the Elmore Cemetery.
Hans’s death record shows his parents were Hans Pedersen and Cath Anderson. Since I haven’t yet used Danish records, I will share my research to find Hans and his parents in a future post.
