57 Mary Ann Jones (1790-1868)

Mary Ann Jones was born about 1790 in East Ham, Essex, England.

She married John Dirk Mulder on 18 May 1812 at St Dunstan, Stepney, London, England. They had 4 children:

  • John Theodore Mulder born abt February 1813 buried 19 May 1813
  • John Theodore Mulder born abt October 1813, christened 17 April 1814, died 26 June 1896
  • William Joseph Mulder (1815-1897)
  • Jacob Thomas Alexander Mulder (1818-1870)

After John Dirk Mulder died, Mary Ann married Godhilf Albrecht Friederich Loeper on 21 April 1824 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is not known if they had any children. Mary’s death certificate shows there were no children for the marriage, but only the 3 children were listed from her 1st marriage, so there may have been other children who died young.

Mary Ann died 15 September 1868 at Moorabool Street, Geelong, in the colony of Victoria. She was buried 17 September 1868 at the English Cemetery, Geelong.

Mary Ann’s marriage certificate to Frederick lists her parents as Thomas Jones and Elizabeth Jones. Since Frederick’s mother was listed with her maiden surname, it appears Mary Ann’s mother’s maiden surname and married surname were both Jones. The East Ham Parish Records are available on the Essex Record Office website, but a subscription is required. Since I can’t afford a subscription at the moment, I have not been able to trace this line any further back at this stage.
