This week I am featuring articles for my ex-husband’s 3x great grandfather, John Hooton.
John Hooton, his wife Eliza, and son Henry had travelled to Australia on the “John Bull”, arriving in Port Phillip in January 1840. The first article I am featuring is about the arrival of the “John Bull”.

And again in 1848.

In 1850, John was one of those who proposed that Collingwood be made an independent Ward of the City.
I couldn’t find a death notice for John, but I did find an article where Probate of John’s estate was granted.
