My Heritage

My Heritage Review – part 3

It’s been a while since my last post reviewing the collections My Heritage has for Australia.  This will probably be my last post, at least for the moment, because I haven’t felt motivated to review any more collections.  I had this post set up a while ago, and had not got around to posting it.

Australia, Index of Burials, 1900-2019

In searching for a few of the surnames in my tree, the only entries that came up were from Rookwood.  These appear to be the same records as what is available on the Rookwood Cemetery site.

Australia, Marriages, 1810-1980

FamilySearch has a collection with the same name – Australia, marriages, 1810-1980

Queensland Railway Employees, 1889 – 1940

As far as I know, I don’t have anyone in my family who would be in this collection, although when I googled this I found FindMyPast also has this collection.  It doesn’t appear to be available on a free site.

Queensland Early Pioneers Index, 1824 – 1859

This collection is also only available online at either FindMyPast or My Heritage.

Australia Deaths and Burials, 1816-1980

FamilySearch has a collection with the same name – Australia, deaths and burials, 1816-1980

Tasmania, Australia, Electoral Rolls 1916

My Heritage appears to only have this one year for Tasmanian Electoral Rolls.  Ancestry has a much greater range of Tasmanian Electoral rolls: Tasmania: 1914*, 1915-17, 1919*, 1921, 1922*, 1925, 1928*, 1929-31, 1934, 1936-37*, 1943-44*, 1949*, 1954*, 1958, 1963, 1968, 1972, 1977, 1980.   FindMyPast has 1934 and 1943 in their Tasmanian Electoral rolls collection, and Tasmania (commonwealth) electoral rolls for the years 1916, 1934, and 1943 in their Australia Electoral rolls collection.
