Thursday’s Tips – Irish Genealogy

I haven’t written a post in this series for a while, as I haven’t been using any new free resources in my genealogy do-over.  This week, I started my research in Ireland, so I used an additional resource: Irish Genealogy.

Irish Genealogy has Church Records and Civil Records.

Church Records: The website has a page which details What Church Records are available online?  Not all counties in Ireland are covered, but fortunately they have the ones for the counties I am interested in: Kerry, Cork, Carlow and Dublin.

Civil Records: There is also a page What Civil Records are on-line?  The years covered are:

  • Births: 1864 to 1919
  • Marriages: 1845 (for Non-Catholic, 1864 for Catholic) to 1944
  • Deaths: 1864 to 1969
