Who We Are and What This Policy Covers

 Lois Willis – Genealogy and Family History is a personal genealogy blog owned by Lois Willis, which has been set up to share information about my ancestors and family history, as well as the resources I use to research my family history.

This Privacy Policy applies to information that I collect about you when you use my website

Information we collect

We only collect information about you if we truly need it, and only the information you provide us – for example, your name and email address are required when you submit a comment, and your email address is required if you want to follow our blog by email.

We use the information we collect when you make a comment, or subscribe to receive blog posts by email to:

  • Respond to your requests
  • Improve the website
  • Keep the website secure

You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link on any of the emails you receive from us, and your email address will be removed from our database.  You can ask at any time to have any comment you have made to be deleted.

We do not share any information you provide to us with any third-parties.

This site is hosted by WordPress.com.  Aggregate data about the visitors to this site are provided to us using WordPress and Jetpack.  This data is limited to the number of visitors and views per day, the posts and pages visited, the referrer (i.e. search engine), and the country of the visitor.  We don’t share this information with anyone else.

Our spam-blocking service, Akismet, has temporary access to your comments to prevent spam.

Use of Cookies
